Advanced Therapeutic Cupping

Exclusively with Lindsay Bodkin, LMT

This is not cupping as an afterthought or 10-minute add-on. This is cupping as a complete, sophisticated therapeutic system—delivered by someone who has studied it at the highest level.

Lindsay holds advanced certification in both modern and traditional cupping techniques and served as a Teacher’s Assistant for Cupping Canada and Cupping USA. Clients regularly say, “I’ve had cupping before, but never like this.” That difference comes from years of refined skill, anatomical precision, and an intuitive feel for tissue that most practitioners simply never develop.

At Massage Works, we refuse to treat cupping as a trendy bolt-on service. Instead, Lindsay begins every session with skilled Swedish and/or deep-tissue massage, reading the tissue in real time—feeling where it’s glued, guarded, dehydrated, or inflamed. She then places the cups with masterful intuition and science-based reasoning—reading the tissue’s density, hydration, temperature, and fascial glide while drawing on clinical evidence for optimal suction strength, duration, and movement patterns. This precise combination gently lifts the fascia, separates stubborn adhesions, flushes metabolic waste, and restores free movement to restricted layers. Research shows this controlled negative pressure can increase local skin blood flow by up to 300 %¹, significantly reduce inflammatory cytokines², and improve range of motion faster than manual compression alone³. In just minutes, she often unlocks the kind of deep, measurable, lasting release that hours of traditional pressing rarely match.

The result is deeper, longer-lasting relief. Chronic back and neck pain, frozen shoulder, IT-band syndrome, migraines, tmj, scar tissue, fibromyalgia flare-ups, and even breathing restrictions routinely soften or vanish.

What you’ll experience:

  • A unique pulling/lifting sensation that feels oddly comforting and profoundly relieving
  • Visible therapeutic marks that fade in 3–14 days and are proof your body is finally moving what’s been stuck; If you do not want marks, please let Lindsay know
  • Immediate increase in range of motion, lighter muscles, and easier breathing
  • Changes that continue to unfold over the next 48–72 hours as inflammation drains and fresh blood rebuilds the tissue

Session Flow & What to Wear/Bring:

  • Arrive in comfortable clothing; you’ll disrobe to your comfort level under soft linens and will be properly draped at all times
  • Please arrive scent-free and without lotion (no perfume, lotion, or essential oils)
  • Post-session: Hydrate well. It is best not to do an intense workout or heavy lifting prior to 24hrs after the session. Allow your body time to readjust to its new normal.

If you tried cupping and didn’t feel it worked, or have had cups slapped on randomly, or worse, have had a therapist place cups on you and then leave the room without constantly evaluating the tissue changes — come experience the real thing—the way it was meant to be practiced with advanced skill, anatomical precision, and zero shortcuts.
